Trainee Coach Insurance

In accordance with EA NCAS Policy and Procedures candidates must have the following pre-requisites prior to registering to attend a 2 Day Face-to-Face Workshop:

1. Intro Riding Certificate

2.  Intro Horse Management Certificate

3. ASC Beginning Coaching Principles (can be done online for free or via a workbook)

4. Level 2 First Aid
5. Be an EA members

The EA NCAS Insurance scheme is supported by Aon – a world leading insurance broker.

The EA NCAS Insurance year is 30 Sept - 30 Sept. Trainee insurance is pro-rata quarterly for those  purchasing insurance for the first time.

A full twelve months of trainee insurance costs $260.

Own Insurance

If candidates have their own public liability insurance they are exempt from purchasing insurance via EA,  however a certificate of currency (copy is fine) must be provided to the EA and your Coach Educator.

Employer Insurance

If candidates have insurance coverage offered by an employer then they must produce, i) letter confirming their employment, and, ii) a certificate of currency (copy is fine) from their employer

This means the candidate can only "practise" coaching and undertake their activity slips under the auspices (and perhaps on the premises)  of their employer for their insurance to respond.   It is important to check the individual policy.

EA NCAS Trainee Insurance

If candidates do not, or can not, obtain insurance then they may wish to purchase EA NCAS Insurance.

EA NCAS insurance covers the candidate while they are learning to coach, they may or may not be supervised at the time depending on their experience and circumstances.

To purchase trainee insurance candidates must be a current EA member, have a current first aid certificate and have completed both the Introductory Riding and Horse Management certificates.

EA Insurance is "activated" by attending the 2 Day Face-to-Face workshop.  If a candidate purchases insurance, but does not attend a 2 day workshop – their insurance will be void.

If you do not believe insurance is important… please do not train to become an EA NCAS Coach.
