FEI Regional Dressage Forum - 24 - 25 October 2005
Don't miss out! Some places still available for the FEI Group VIII Regional Dressage Forum. The FEI Forum is the most ambitious event for 2005, an opportunity to network with fellow Dressage lovers and to hear world-leading judges, trainers and a top equine veterinarian right here in Australia. The Forum is NOT just for elite judges and riders - a wide spectrum of training will be covered, including Children, Ponies and Young Horses. In addition, Dr Gerhard Heuschmann's presentation on Functional Anatomy is a presentation for every rider, trainer and breeder. Forum Presenters include: Mariette Withages – Chairman FEI Dressage Committee and O-Level FEI Dressage Judge
In recent years Mariette has been a driving force behind the globalisation of Dressage, instigating forums and clinics in developing regions and ushering in the new three-member Team format to be launched at the Beijing Olympics (Equestrian in Hong Kong), enhancing the Olympic ideal of “universality” in Dressage.
Jean Bemelmans – trainer of the Athens silver-medal-winning Spanish Dressage team
Jean’s ongoing work and individual approach to each combination on the Spanish team has seen Spain turn the corner in their Grand Prix work, fine-tuning the quality of work to gain those extra few percent and launch Spain into the medals at Athens and recently at the European Dressage Championships.
Angelika Frömming – FEI I-Level Dressage Judge and Young Horse Judge
Angelika has a particular interest in Young Horses and has been heavily involved in the training of Young Horse judges in recent years, as these judges bear a heavy responsibility: influencing the correct preparation of potential superstars.
Dr Gerhard Heuschmann – Specialist Equine Veterinarian and former head of the Breeding Department at the German Federation
Dr Heuschmann will be known to Hoofbeats magazine readers, and to EFA coaches for his article with Uwe Spenlen on the use and effect of draw reins which appeared in previous issues of The Equestrian Coach and Hoofbeats magazines. Dr Heuschmann’s knowledge of equine anatomy will come to the fore in his presentation on functional anatomy and the influence of classical training.
Michael Stone – Head of the FEI Sports Development Department
Michael is head of a busy department at the FEI involved in development projects including:
Already nearly half the registrations are from New Zealand, with attendees also expected from South Africa, Japan, UK, Singapore and Indonesia. Following directly after the National Dressage Championships at SIEC, this is a monster week of Dressage right here in Australia.
